Friday Update: December 6th

Hello Snowy Friday! Here’s what’s happening Downtown:

2014 Board Campaign – Thank you to all who has turned in their commitment form. We are well on our way in making our Board goal! Your generous contributions will make such an important impact in our community; housing, truancy program, overflow… I’m very humbled and grateful to be working with such an amazing group of professionals.

Capital University – Big thank you to Kyle who set up a great meeting with John Strick, Director of Regional Development. We gave him a historical tour of our building this morning and had a wonderful discussion on how Capital Law school started. He gave a confident verbal confirmation to a $5000 ask toward our Celebration. He also will help with an alumni list and speakers for that day.

Nationwide – Big thank you to Joe who received a commitment from Rob Maloney, VP NRI at Nationwide. He’ll be able to speak for a few minutes at our Celebration.

Downtown banners and awnings – This has been quite an ordeal! They are scheduled (again) for Saturday December 14th to install the awnings and Dec 30th to install exterior banners. Hopefully by our January meeting you’ll get to see them!

Columbus Sole – Just in case you missed the meeting. The story is now on our website.

Thanksgiving Meals – Last Thursday was a huge success. Hoggy’s, Bob Evans and Mid Ohio Food bank helped us provide over 700 meals to our residents/overflow. Thanks to all who came and helped!

3 New Board Members – We have 3 new board members joining us. Beth, Doug and Susan has already jumped in and started making a difference for our Y. Make sure you stop and say hi at next month’s meeting.

Be safe and warm this weekend!
